(These are my thoughts on Chapter 4 of Bob Proctors book, “You Were Born Rich”)

The Promised Land

Many times I have been faced with huge problems. These problems have seemed and sometimes still do seem to big to handle. I sometimes have wished to turn them over to somebody else. You know, to pass the responsibility to someone else. I have sat dreaming and wishing I had a lamborghini, my dream home, a music studio, I have dream t of giving my family a million dollars or blessing my church . I’m sure you have done this too.

Bob says we can have these things if we ARE READY for them and if we can change our thinking… which people, seems a lot harder then it seems. He says we should read chapter 4 one hundred times if necessary until we feel deep inside that we actually comprehend the idea’s being expressed. He says our days of idle-wishing will come to an end. Big statements.

Now 9 out of 10 people you share this with will actually laugh at you and tell others you are odd. What you must understand is that most people are not ready for these idea’s and most people treat our amazing GOD like some sort of bell boy, who is supposed to run and fetch and then deliver it to them. A lot of people believe that just because you verbalize certain thoughts in their mind like “God please let me get this,” or “God give me that,” that they will receive what they have asked for. Actually, after a few tries most people will say oh this doesn’t work and then deny there is a God or say it’s a load of nonsense. These people do not understand the true nature of prayer and what is more tragic is that they don’t even know that they don’t know.

Everything that we see in this universe including this universe, ourselves, is nothing but an expression of God, He is the CREATOR of everything. Scientists will tell you that everything is energy, but I like Bob Proctors saying that EVERYTHING is SPIRIT.

I’m not a Mormon myself, but Bob got this interesting scripture from their Bible which states what he is trying to say very well…

“There is a law; irrevocably decreed in
heaven before the foundations of this world
upon which all blessings are predicated.
And when we obtain any blessing from God,
it is by obedience to that law upon which it
is predicated.”
D & C 130:20-21

I LOVE the biblical story of David and Goliath myself. It is my favorite. If you do not know the story I will tell you.

Goliath, the giant of Gath, came into the Israelite camp boasting and taunting the Israelis to select a man to do battle with him. The Israelis were naturally very scared and fearful of doing battle with a giant man such as Goliath right? Not surprisingly, but no one jumped to do battle with him. Most were afraid. Except for one, a man of God named David, a very young, small man heard the giant’s obnoxious boasting and he stepped forward to do battle with the giant. After much talk with the elders, they decided to grant him the “privilege” of going to do battle with the giant. They insisted that he were protective armor and gave him a big sword to do battle with. David could not do battle with the heavy armor and he removed all this armor and went into battle with nothing but a simple slingshot and a few smooth pebbles which he had gathered from a nearby stream.

When the giant leader of the PHILISTINES, protected with armor from head to toe saw the little man with no armor, he was infuriated. He said to David ” Come to me and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air and to the beasts of the field ” David who had God on his side and the unbreakable FAITH in God was not afraid of this giant. The giant placed his faith in his armor, swords and a shield. I guess also the sheer fact that he was HUGE and probably very over confident. THE RESULT, David slung one stone which hit the Giant right between the eyes and killed him.

If we accept the principle of “Let Go And Let God,” and believe that whatever happens will happen for us to reach our goals, it WILL HAPPEN! Like David we too can conquer the “giant” in our own lives. The trouble with those of us who fail to achieve what we desire, is not that we lack the ability to do so, but that we lack THE FAITH in the “Let Go And Let God” principle. This principle dictates whatever is necessary for us to reach our goal will indeed happen. How exciting is this?

Bob notes though that if we do not have faith in God, we will never be what we long to be, or have what we rightly deserve to have. All our prayers will return to us unanswered; our best efforts will bear no fruit and our negative attitudes will thwart the realization of our goal.

” Minds saturated with FEAR OF FAILURE or IMAGES of unwanted results, can no more accomplish, create or produce anything of value, then a stone can violate the law of gravity by flying upwards in the air. ” BOB PROCTOR

What a powerful statement that is. We must realize that God does not alter the law of gravity to accommodate ANYONE. If you walk off a roof you will FALL, that is the LAW. Therefore, the creative principle of the law of achievement cannot be violated with impunity.

So…. NUMBER one with achieving SUCCESS in ANY AREA YOU WANT… being that it is in harmony with what God wants… RELAX…. see what you desire… SEE yourself doing or having what you want, work hard, work smart and let Go and Let God.

We can literally tap into positive thoughts wherever we are. The reason this is so is, because spirit is within us. Once we become aware of Spirit and aware of the fact that it’s everywhere, we will not be able to be anything other then being positive, forceful and radiant. We can be self-reliant in our dealings with the world and conquer all the forces which attempt to drag us down or hold us back.

Spirit is forever flowing into us and through us… this is called THOUGHT. As THOUGHT flows through us we choose the image that will form it. You can do your own experiment with this by sitting back relaxing and becoming aware of creative capacity. You can then form images or pictures, one after another, in your mind, like things that already exist, like your car, your home, your friends faces, clothes Or things that don’t exist like a new business or home, maybe a new car or a charity that you don’t yet own.

Spirit will not move into an image thought without your assistance though. So if we sit back and do nothing, saying to ourselves, “God will look after me,” we are just fooling ourselves. For GOD HELPS THOSE WHO FIRST HELP THEMSELVES.

We must build the image and know in our hearts the image will materialize. We must come to look upon God as being a great unseen provider who inhabits every fiber of our beings and we must understand that the instant we form the image in our minds, God will go to work in His Perfect Way and move us into an entirely new vibration (we feel differently). This new feeling we feel is God at work and although we sometimes express elation by saying we feel enthusiastic, we must remember that the word Enthusiasm is just a derivation from the early Greek word “en theos” meaning IN GOD.

Our enthusiastic attitude will, in turn, cause our actions to change and we will start behaving differently. Strange and wonderful things will start happening and we will be at a loss for words sometimes to explain or even comprehend what is going on.

Skeptics will say, we are just lucky and we should let it just go at that. For as long as we hold the image in our minds of the good we desire, we will be rewarded. We must JUST HAVE FAITH that what should happen must happen, and in the right time, it will happen. We must always remember this, that the image we keep affirming in our hearts is being impressed upon Spirit, and Spirit has the ability to convert out present dreams into our reality.

On the surface, it might appear, from time to time, that things are not going well and we may being to worry that we are moving in the wrong direction. Yet we must be assured that this is not the case. For as long as we KEEP the IMAGE of the GOOD we desire firmly planted in our subconscious mind we will continue to move in the only direction we can in order to get where we are going.

It is never sufficient to believe in ourselves (the part of us which God created in His image) only when you feel particularly enthusiastic or when some particular good fortune has befallen us, but to have it in your mind ALL THE TIME, through the good and bad. We cannot have faith sporadically! For example to get enthusiastic over our prospects and then to undermine all of our mental images. It won’t do to keep dropping down, again and again, like a frog trying to get our of a well, but is feeling weaker and more discouraged after each fall. Any person who starts that type of process in motion, is letting go of his Image of Prosperity and is using his creative powers to build images of poverty instead.

God being a JUST God, will always work to bring about our ultimate good, but bear in mind it is our innermost thoughts and images which we are requesting, not the words to which we might only be paying lip service.  WE MUST MAKE A HABIT to begin each day with A DECLARATION of FAITH in ourselves (created after God’s image) and in His power. Guard this faith zealously, as you would you most precious possession and ensure that it never be imperiled by weak, downhearted and negative thoughts.

” Doubts, fears, pessimism, and negative thinking poison the very source of life. They sap energy, enthusiasm, ambition, hope, faith and everything else which makes life purposeful, joyful and creative. ” Bob Proctor

When we are firmly grounded in FAITH, negative thoughts will have no power over us, because they will not be in harmonious vibration with our new image. We will be mentally strong though the conscious awareness of God’s power within us.

When things get tough we must get tougher!

As Dr. Robert Schuller said, “Tough times never last, but tough people do.” If we find our faith slipping or we find ourselves running low we can do something about it. Go off by yourself and speak out loud to yourself in a firm, decided tone of voice, say it earnestly…

“YOUR NAME”, You are a child of God and
the being God made was never intended for
the sort of weak, negative life you are
leading. God made you for success not
failure. God never made anyone to be a
failure. You are perverting the great object
of your existence by giving way to these
miserable doubts of yourself, of your ability
to be what you desire with all your heart to
be. You should be ashamed to go out amongst
your associates with a long, sad, dejected
face, as though you were a misfit, as though
you lacked creative power within, as though
you did not have the ability to do what your
Creator sent you here to do. You were made
to express what you long to express. Why not
do this? – why not stand and walk like a
conqueror, like a David who slew Goliath,
instead of giving way to discouragement and
doubt and carrying on like a failure? The
Image of Perfection, the Image of your
Creator lies within you. You must bring it to
the center of your conscious thought and
express it to the world. Don’t disgrace your
Maker by violating that image, by being
everything but the magnificent success God
intended you to be.”

One last thing before I finish this post. NEVER force THINGS to HAPPEN, because “Force Negates” If we try to do it our way, by forcing things to happen, it is not necessarily God’s way. Therefore we should learn to follow the quiet voice that speaks in feelings rather then words; follow what you “hear” inside, rather then what others may be telling you to do. We must be aware that the quiet voice within us often tells us to do things which run counter to the way most people live their lives. Many of the world’s greatest leaders were considered heretics by their peers, simply because they chose to “march to the tune of a different drummer!” These leaders were following the quiet voice within them, rather than doing the things considered fashionable in their day.

We should let our images sink deep down into our subconscious minds. We must let ourselves get emotionally involved with our Image, becuase by doing this we are “Letting Go and Letting God.”

Also understand that if we go off the road and go our own way. The minute we recognize our errors and reaffirm our image, SPIRIT will pick up right where it left off when we decide to take over the controls again, we will pick up right where we left off.

FIRST PRINCIPLE – RELAX AND SEE YOURSELF IN POSSESSION OF THE GOOD THAT YOU DESIRE

SECOND PRINCIPLE – LET GO AND LET GO!
