How inspiring!

The ideas in Bob’s book could be the biggest breakthrough in life for us, because once we learn how to CONTROL our IMAGE and get a TRUE grip on it, well that is a DYNAMIC IDEA and IS changing our lives.

Some people never ever grasp this concept. They have maybe read about it, maybe even thought about it, but never understood it properly. Some get it when they are 17, some at 31, maybe 26, maybe 24 some when they are 50, some at 60 and some never, it does not matter the age.

You probably have used it before and had a GREAT time, but AH you slipped and FELL and you have backslid-den, and are in a slump.

(These are my thoughts on Chapter Two of Bob Proctors “How Much is Enough?”)

Well, it is quite strange, because I just had another AH HA moment and it hit me in the face this time.

Let’s just say God has a funny sense of humor and a good way to sort us out. I was reading this chapter and well it just hit me. I will explain…

For US to really get a PROSPERITY AWARENESS, WE NEED to be SPECIFIC with the amount of money we want. We will be working with our subconscious mind and it just accept things. So for us to say I want lots, our subconscious mind gets VERY CONFUSED, YES?

THIS CONCEPT can literally CHANGE our LIVES! WE must therefore realize that thinking is not really enough, WE HAVE TO MOVE INTO ACTION! There are first certain things WE MUST DO and one is to decide how much WE want.

Now, I know you will be like OKAY, I want $1 million. Now this also confuses your brain. REMEMBER I SAID SPECIFIC. It is not good enough to say I want $1 million dollars to live. You could probably repeat that to yourself for 20 years and nothing would happen… actually you probably jump off a bridge before the end of the 20 years.

Also you must realize that SOME governments will “OWN YOU” if they can. They will send you money to live. Not a lot, but enough I guess, for the bare minimum.

Most people though want more from life. Then again you have to be specific, how much more do you want? Now do what I did, make a PLAN for yourself.

First step, WE LIST ALL THE THINGS OR ACTIVITIES we plan to spend things on over the next year! This is going to TAKE SERIOUS PLANNING OKAY! LETS GO get a PEN and PAPER right now… I’ll wait…

To help you here are some categories, FOOD, RENT/MORTGAGE/BOND, CLOTHES, AUTOMOBILE, UTILITIES, EDUCATION, VACATIONS, RECREATION, INSURANCE, SAVINGS. TITHE.

These are just a few of many, so remember that and make up your own if need be. Remember that you must not fill in the amounts you are currently earning. Fill in the amount you want to earn and VISUALIZE yourself living that way. Seriously WRITE THESE STEPS DOWN.

So write down how much you want, figure out what you need it for and divide it equally, then imagine yourself living this way in your IMAGINATION.

For example, you might drive your Audi S4 to the nicest restaurant down town. You do this once a week. The service is amazing and the food is even better. Your friends with everyone there and it’s FUN. An environment fit for royalty.

You could now be driving a car that is full of rust and falling apart OR maybe you don’t have a CAR. Imagine what it feels like to ride a brand new car that you TRADE in every few years for the newer models. BE SPECIFIC about the car.

This is OUR LIVES we are talking about here! You don’t get a practice RUN do you? I know I won’t. The years I have wasted have been just that, I look back at them as a lesson and move on.  Let’s Make that decision right now! FORGIVE AND FORGET, that includes forgiving ourselves. No one lives forever! Lets Enjoy life to the fullest, do good and be the spiritual beings God has made us.

Bob says at this point our MINDS do start to play tricks and trust me he is right. I have sat with this chapter many times. I used to read FAR into the book, even though Bob says the book is meant to be sipping and tasted, rather then read at one sitting.

We must remember that we have a lot of potential locked up inside of us just waiting to come out. OUR POTENTIAL is SERIOUSLY HUGE! Every person has something to GIVE in this world. EVERY person is AMAZING.

Why do WE seem to think others can do it, but we can not? I MADE UP MY MIND TONIGHT, I CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU!

WE CAN ACHIEVE $15 000 per month, we can achieve just R10, 000 a month if that’s all we wanted. But lets think BIG, Dream and aspire to do the greatest things and imagine our lives really GREAT. R10, 000 won’t by much these days.

More LIKE R120 000 which is $15 000 per month! I know it’s possibly, because I used to work in LIFE INSURANCE and I saw these guys walking away with this type of money. What separates us from them? Nothing, except that we decide we can’t do it… or rather that the price is too big to pay for it.

BUT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH RIGHT?

So don’t just pull a number out of the air, pick it properly, do your due diligence with this exercise. Work it out properly. Once you have that number write it out BOLDLY and lets move on. Clear it from your mind.

Now hopefully a DRIVING factor in all this money is to provide for OUR families. I’m sure you have responsibilities, just like I do to my family, and not just to provide for them in an adequate manner. After all I want them to live to their fullest.

A side note. Life insurance is very important. I have seen how hard it can be for a family to loose a loved one and although money does not bring the person back, it allows the loved one to still carry on giving. We should think of our wealth lasting generations.

We should Start living our lives to the FULLEST RIGHT NOW! How often do we pay our phone bills, or the RENT, how often do we fill up our cars with petrol? How often DO we PAY OURSELVES?

WE HAVE TO DO OUR BEST HERE. I will now, because this was the Babylonian law of financial success! Bet they didn’t teach you that in school did they? Ha ha.

Why, because otherwise there is nothing left.

I have done it before and it works. A part of all we EARN IS OURS TO KEEP. Woo hoo! It makes sense don’t you think?

Another way to look at this is what you earn on Monday morning is yours to keep, so it should go directly into a SPECIAL ACCOUNT that you don’t have easy access to and it should earn nice interest.

We call this our FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE ACCOUNT. This would normally be about 10% of our total net income.From this account we can pay OUR insurance premiums, because this creates  our INSTANT ESTATE.

I hope you still with me here, this gets a little involved, but it is a necessary step to success.

I know most of us are probably in some big debts and doing this seems crazy, because we have SO much to pay back already. That is the TRAP of today. DEBT IS SLAVERY. So we are either all in a debt state, break even state, or surplus state.

If you are in the debt state, I have been there. It is not nice and the deeper you get the harder it sometimes is to IMAGINE.

Let’s say on the other end that you have never had a good income of $15 000 and you are used to just surviving on what you have. Imagining that money can be difficult… but bear with me…

Think of it this way, WHATEVER money you earn Monday and Tuesday should go into your DEBT CLEARANCE ACCOUNT. This represents 20% of your income. If you are at BREAK EVEN then you PAY YOURSELF 10% into an account you DON’T TOUCH. Be disciplined with this, all successful people are.

If you are in debt, mail a letter to your debtors and promise to pay them back. Draw a list of the people you owe, determine which % of the 20 % is to go to who.

PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK, BECAUSE YOU ARE WELL ON YOUR WAY TO FINANCIAL SUCCESS!

1. We have an instant estate if anything should happen to us 2. We have a savings account 3. We are paying ourselves first. 4. We have an orderly debt repayment program. 5 We have 70% of our income to live on; to run things with like the house the car the entertainment. 6. Our minds would be clear, as well as our conscious.

WE SHOULD NEVER THINK DEBT EVER AGAIN NEVER!

All will be taken care of FROM NOW. WE should THINK, I AM WEALTHY; MONEY IS GOOD; I USE MONEY AND I LOVE PEOPLE. Keep saying it!

Think of this as tuning yourself up for a journey we are going to take. It’s a FUN one and we will enjoy it. MAKE A MOVIE OF YOURSELF EARNING THIS MONEY. BE A LITTLE KID AGAIN! IMAGINE IT!

If you have not ACTED on these ideas I would suggest you do them now for if you don’t put knowledge into action, then your are truly doomed, for it is like you had never had the knowledge at all.

Make a decision to ACT TODAY. Be happy, think of your life the way you want it to be without limit. Do you think God has any limit, HA HE made this WHOLE UNIVERSE. Nothing is IMPOSSIBLE to God.

Talk about the things you LOVE, talk about the things you WANT. IMAGINE YOUR LIFE THE PERFECT WAY YOU WANT IT. Don’t SEE the lack, SEE the AMAZING possibility you HAVE within yourself.

Make friends with a financial professional. Get his assistance, don’t let him make decisions for you, but get a basic life insurance policy and PLAN in place first. Go to the doctor and get a checkup. You should keep in mind that you don’t always need to be sick to get batter. Ha ha!

To end this chapter now remember the THREE DISTINCT CATEGORIES PEOPLE FALL INTO WITH FINANCES…

THEY ARE… 1. Deficit Position, 2. Break-Even position and  3. Surplus position.

We could trick ourselves into thinking that all we would have to do to become richer, would be earn more money. AH but this is not TRUE! GET this?

It’s a habit of spending MORE THEN YOU EARN!

I hope you had an Ah ha moment here! I certainly did ha ha ha ha! That’s why they say you spend what you earn. It’s a habit that we get ourselves into. To become financially independent we have to change this habit!

I’ve seen how my own mind can trick me into doing less, my perspective would be wrong. Since we are all creates of habit. I spent EVERYTHING I EARNED ALL THE TIME. I would never save. I did once, but then I thought that was silly and it takes too long. WRONG! This REALLY WORKS!

When you’ve decided that you have had enough then design a financial plan like we have done and we discipline ourselves to stick to this plan for AT LEAST TWO months until the new habit is formed by that habit, then we are really moving in the direction we want. Things will change!

I will continue next week with THE IMAGINE MAKER which will help us understand why we must see ourselves already earning and living the way we want. Woo hoo! This is FUN aint it?

At some time in your life, sometime down the road, you might or might not realize that people around you are holding you back. You may also realize that they don’t want you to succeed. They either consciously or sub-consciously will be wanting you to fail at all new opportunities. If they see you succeeding at something, deep down inside they might want you to fail. This is usually because it would reveal their lack of ambition, drive and vision.

They ridicule your aspirations and predict certain failure for attempting anything so foolish.  They do this because they are your “friends.”

You need friends like this, like you need a sunscreen in the dark.  You’ve got to detach from these people as quickly as possible.  For the most part, you usually do this slowly.  You stop inviting them places, and you start accepting their invitations less frequently.  You both start to notice it isn’t as much fun to hang out with each other, and you begin to curtail the time you spend with each other.

You just slowly drift apart.  Others, however, call for more drastic action…

Those are the seriously toxic people who are actively working to hold you back.  By them, I mean the ones who ridicule or actively sabotage you.  These people need to be called out.

I have told people like this things like, “I love you and want the best for you, but I cannot afford to be around you.  You are negative, and expect the worst.  This viewpoint colors everything you say and do, and I don’t want to be infected by your attitude any longer.”

And I move on and replace them with people who bring more to my life, and I to theirs.  As you can see by the comments yesterday, a lot of you do this as well.  But where do you go from there?

I respect Robert Kiyosaki tremendously.  I really do.

I have been following this man for about 10 years now. I’ve read every book, I’ve attended online seminars. I’ve even been to play his CASHFLOW game with some investors. As a  matter of fact, I don’t know of any serious financial genius who hasn’t at least read his book, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” or heard a ton of quotes and references to it.

Around 3 years ago I watched a movie called, “The Secret”

This movie, although filled with a lot of ‘fluff,’ as I like to call it really struck a chord with me. I became ‘consciously’ aware of how my thoughts actually affect my actions. I mean, I knew this before, but I didn’t really understand it.

At the time, I was studying music and in a band. We were all working on our album and touring around the country. We had some big goals and we decided to use ‘The Secret” in our plan.

I had already put up certain goals on my wall, but this time I added a vision board. After about two weeks, bless his soul, one of my band members came to practice and said the secret was rubbish and did not work. I did actually agree with him, because I felt the movie left certain things out. I also believe in Jesus very much, so the movie seemed like blasphemy.

Afterward, I sort of gave up on this secret and guess what… my life practically fell apart. My band split up, I could not find a job after college, I started to become really depressed, I would sleep till 12pm every day not wanting to wake up in the morning and partying excessively. My relationships, were not in a shambles, but people were not happy with me and I would get into arguments almost all the time.

After a few months of this, I just could not handle it anymore. I found the movie “The Secret” in my cupboard and I started to watch it over and over again. I picked up a book called “Cashflow Quadrant” by Robert T. Kiyosaki. In the book he highly recommends a book called, “Think and Grow Rich” this book seemed to explain the missing parts in the movie and I started again on this journey to finding my life’s purpose.

Now being a musician and being the type of person I am, I don’t enjoy working for other people. I decided that I would start working online and that I would make millions doing this. Well, to put it bluntly I was completely wrong. Making money online was not easy. I spent hundreds on different opportunities and products. I learn t a lot, but never made one cent.

There is SO much information everywhere and lots of people with scams and quick money making schemes. You do have to be careful, but trust me, the way our WORLD economy is crumbling , it makes sense to position yourself as a leader in the NEW economy.

I read book after book. I read Bob Proctors, “You Were Born Rich” I read Wallace Wattles “The Science of Getting Rich” and many more. I started to see what everybody was on about.

I learn t that there are three ways to make money as a business owner!

Your own business (I’ve done this and it’s tough) 95% of businesses fail. We had a cosmetic jewelery shop, which failed in the third year and lots of hard work had been put into it. We lost quite a bit of money from that.

You can own your own franchise! I’ve never done this, because you need thousands to start one and thousands to keep it running. You can do your best to get a loan from the bank… good luck with that!

Or you can do Network Marketing. This is my favorite option, firstly because most highly successful people will recommend this to you (I like taking advice from people who have ‘got the t-shirt’ per say) Just go and check it out. Secondly, it has such a low start up cost anybody can try it. Anyone can LEARN how to become a business owner!

Playing drums tightly is all about playing in the pocket.

It means, if the beat is 96 beats per minute the divisions between 4/4 or 6/4 whatever the time signature is… the division is perfect.

I’m not sure if you understand what I’m trying to say.

Let’s say you are playing a 4/4 beat at 100BPM and you miss one of the notes by a fraction of second, over a few bars you will be out of the pocket.

People can hear whether something is in time or not. They might not be able to tell you why they don’t like it, but they will say oh no that sounds horrible. They might also understand time and not be able to do it, but see if someone else can do it.

So when you are learning drums, focus on playing really slowly at first and practicing technique. Play fewer stokes and focus on playing “in the pocket.”

Use different techniques like the moeller method, finger technique and wrist technique. Practice whenever you have a chance, but rather then focusing on speed, focus on playing the groove as tight as possible.

Learn to breathe while playing too that helps too.

(These are my own notes and thoughts on Bob Proctors book “You Were Born Rich” Chapter 1)

When I talk about money and say I’m going to be wealthy or rich, well meaning people of course, will be like, “Jared, you know, a lot of money is bad and you should be happy with what you have. I would not want to be rich.” They might even see me as a bit brash to suggest the thought of being rich

Okay fine, understandable.

Consider this – money will have a greater influence on our lives than almost any other commodity you can think of. Indeed, a sudden loss OR gain of money will affect our attitude and confidence to a GREAT extent.

THEREFORE, you must agree that we should have a DEEP understanding of EXACTLY what money is and the laws governing it’s attraction. SAD FACT 95% of people will SETTLE FOR WHAT THEY HAVE NOW! Wake up! 95% of these people will WISH they had more ALL their lives!

We can’t deny money is very important. Money is meant to be a servant, to be used in a good and responsible way. It must not be horded and must circulate like it’s meant to. It is not meant to be squandered neither.

We need to increase our awareness of prosperity. Develop our “prosperity consciousness” as to say. We need to use prosperity in a responsible manner and it won’t matter having billions if we use it for good.

You are well aware there are literally thousands of people on this planet, who work hard, they slave themselves to death sometimes. I see these people, on the way to work. They groom themselves well, they talk well, they dress smart, yet they never become wealthy. They would work from sun up to sun down 9 – 5 for the rest of their lives.

There would be no yacht sailing. No new plane. No new home. No big business. No big investments. No new car in the driveway. No holiday first class. No golf clubs. No motorbike. No swimming pool. Just a normal life, a 9-5 life, nothing exciting.

We need to develop our consciousness through thinking, regardless of where we are in life. We must begin to think of prosperity in our mind now. Not tomorrow, not after this blog post.

Thinking is our highest function as a human being. We must not trick ourselves into thinking that mental activity is thinking. Often we are using memory and playing old “movies” in our mind. We are not really thinking.

Our bodies are literally amazing. They are made of millions of cells and each one of them is influenced by our thought impulses. So the second we start entertaining relaxing thoughts our bodies will be at peace. The instant we begin entertaining worry or fear, our bodies will become rigid and tense.

A good way to do this is to play a game with yourself. Close your eyes and imagine yourself with $100 000 cash. What do you do with the money?

I just imagined myself buying a motorbike and sharing it with my house mates. I imagined taking a holiday to Malaysia, first class, and having the best lunch with Bob Proctor. I imagined sending thousands to my parents and friends. I paid for 6 friends and I go around the world. I donated a large sum to my church. I used the whole $100 000. It was fun!

Remember everyone talks to themselves mentally and our minds cannot tell the difference between visualization and real life. So play this game and you will quickly find out that it really helps.

Whenever we have an internal dialogue, we must talk about how good it feels to be wealthy and happy. We must congratulate ourselves and hear others congratulating us. We must work from a lower platform to the higher one in our mind first!

Bob talks about three different planes of existence. The spiritual plane of thoughts (highest potential). The Intellectual plane of ideas (middle potential) and the physical plane of results (lowest potential). Therefore, by saying money is good, I love people and use money, money is a servant, I am the master. You are merely using your divine nature to choose the thoughts that you have.

So it goes thoughts (spirit)- idea (intellectual) – thing (physical) NOT thing (physical) – thoughts (spirit) – idea (intellectual)

OR as my close friend Tracey would say Dream, Believe, Become!

We must understand the present state of our bank account, our sales, our health, our social life, our position at work etc. is nothing more then the physical manifestation of our previous thinking. If we sincerely wish to change or improve our results in our physical world, we must change our thoughts and you must change them immediately.

Now remember to look at another person’s accomplishments or results and to envy them is truly unwise. Those people first chose their thoughts, in order to build the picture in their mind of the good that has now manifest in their lives. You would be unwise to try and have the thing without imagining it first.

Hopefully we understand the wisdom of Bob Proctor and all the other great authors and motivational speakers. Hopefully we take action on the information and use it to our best ability. So I keep repeating: “I am prosperous, I am wealthy, money is good.”

Remember though, money is the servant; you are the master – you love people and you use money.
